about

Surfer Baby is the first full length album by the Monties. In the Spring of 2018 the boys had a handful of new songs and a dream that on Independence Day they would release the album of the Summer, and by July 27th they did just that. While keeping the same hook-driven writing and energetic performance, this album takes a step away from the innocence of its predecessor, with the group delving beneath all facades and exposing their deepest insecurities and raw emotions, as well as pushing the boundaries of experimentation in all directions. After sacrificing a living room, 8 weeks of recording time, a pound of weed, and too many all-nighter mixing sessions to count, the Monties deliver an entirely DIY concept album about the struggles of growing up and battling your inner demons.
